Tariquía is the first catch-and-release fishing tourism project developed within the namesake nature reserve since its inception. The mythical Tarija River flows through its mountains, renowned for its crystal-clear waters and exceptionally sized golden dorados. Tariquía offers an unforgettable fly fishing experience in the unique natural environment of the Bolivian Yungas and is the last refuge of the great mountain dorados of the Paraná–Plate Basin.Each fishing day begins with a helicopter flight to a different section of the Tarija River, where anglers float downstream while targeting golden dorado from rafts and on foot. This combination of aerial access, remote wilderness, and diverse river habitat allows guests to explore new water each day while experiencing one of Bolivia's most distinctive fly fishing destinations.

Travel Details
Guests begin their journey in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, where the program includes airport meet-and-greet service, transportation, and an overnight stay at Hotel Los Tajibos. From Santa Cruz, guests continue by domestic charter flight to Tarija, followed by helicopter transfer to Tariquía Lodge.
During the fishing program, anglers travel daily by helicopter between the lodge and different sections of the Tarija River. Fishing is conducted from rafts as anglers float downstream through various river sections before returning to the lodge by helicopter in the afternoon.
