Winston Air 2 Reach Rods are a fine addition to the storied Air 2 family. They are longer than other Air 2 single hand rods, all measure 10 feet. The extended length allows better easier mends, improved line pickup and longer drifts. The rods are intuitive to cast with plenty of feel for fast action rods. The 4wt model is ideal for technical nymph presentations and precise dry fly deliveries. Fishing for educated fish on a tailwater or spring creek? A ten footer offers more line control once it hits the water. The 5wt is a fantastic all around nymph or dry dropper stick and an excellent lake rod for delivering intermediate and sinking lines or balanced-bobber presentations. The 6wt model is a powered up version ideal for heavier nymph or lake presentations or when beefier fish are expected. It handles modest streamers well and we think it could be a delightful single hand trout spey rod.
All models feature a full wells grip with a fighting but, a silver lightweight anodized aluminum reel seat, double uplocking aluminum rings and hard chrome light-wire ECO slick coated shooting guides. A premium graphite tube and timeless logo rod sock is included. NanoParticle Technology forms a "double-bond" to the resin and graphite to improve stress distribution by up to 30%, rod strength by 24% which leads to more feel, improved loop control and fighting ability.
