Pirarucú Lodge

Explore the Amazon’s Arapaima Frontier
Welcome to Pirarucú Lodge, nestled deep within Brazil’s Mamirauá Reserve—often considered the world’s premier destination for fly fishing arapaima. This remote, floating eco-lodge lies within a maze of blackwater lagoons and flooded rainforest, where ancient fish glide beneath glassy surfaces and the calls of macaws echo through the canopy. It’s a place so wild and undisturbed, it feels like stepping into another world.Curated as part of the Caddis Fly Fishing tours, Pirarucú is an experience grounded in conservation, cultural respect, and the pursuit of extraordinary fish. Operated in partnership with Untamed Angling and local indigenous communities, this journey offers rare encounters with massive arapaima—some stretching over six feet in length—alongside arowana, tambaqui, and yellow peacock bass. Between sessions on the water, guests are surrounded by vibrant biodiversity: pink river dolphins break the surface in golden light, howler monkeys stir in the distance, and giant otters slip through quiet channels.
This is more than a fishing trip—it’s a fully immersive expedition into the soul of the Amazon, thoughtfully offered by Caddis Fly Shop.
