Rio In-Touch Mid Head Spey Line
The Rio InTouch Mid Head Spey Line is perfect for the Pacific NW angler: It is built for fishing mid-sized rivers with 13'-14' fly rods.
The long “step” taper at the front of the head unfolds effortlessly and allows you to spey cast and cover water efficiently.
This is a traditional, integrated spey line based off of Rio’s old windcutter. The overall length of the Rio InTouch Mid Head Spey is between 110-120 feet. It features a 52-60 foot head, a 37-foot section of running line, with a 10 foot handling section in between. The length of the heads is great for mending and controlling line at a distance, as well. The step taper of the head makes it easy to cast in the wind, even with a sink tip and weighted fly. It performs wonderfully with both sink tips and floating lines, so it is a great all-around spey line for summer steelhead fishing. We love it on the Deschutes and the Willamette; however, this line is suited perfectly for most of the rivers we fish in the Pacific NW.
InTouch. The Rio InTouch Mid Head Spey Line features Rio’s ultra-low stretch ConnectCore technology. The low stretch in these lines is a genuine enhancement in fly line performance: better feel, better hook setting, less opportunity to miss that subtle take and more opportunity to hook up on that next fish. Specifically with two handed casting, it allows the rod to load deeper, as well as much better energy transfer through the line allowing for precise and long casts.
