Finnish Raccoon is a fantastic winging fur that is very popular in tube flies.
Somewhat comparable to temple dog in its texture, you can use both the guard hair and the underfur of this material for various purposes. Guard hairs are stiffer and tend to be lighter in color. The underfur is softer and perfect for wings. Another unique characteristic of Finnish raccoon is how it compresses on the tube-when you tie it down, leaving little to no bump on the tube.
