Semperfli Classic Waxed Thread is high quality, flat laying, strong, polyester thread. The two core construction holds up for dubbing loops and can be easily split. The thread is tightly wound with high tech machinery ensuring it stays tidy on the spool.
Caddis Fly Shop carries Semperfli Classic Waxed Thread in 12/0 and 6/0. We love this thread as general purpose waxed thread. It has just the right amount of wax on it! Each spool of thread comes with 120 yards (110meters).
12/0 thread is ideal for dries, wet flies, small nymphs and emergers for sizes 10-20. The 12/0 thread is 70 denier and has a breaks train of 17.25 oz.
6/0 thread is ideal for steelhead, salmon, various streamer and predator flies in sizes 8 and up. The 6/0 thread is 150 denier and has a breaking strain of 33.01 oz. It would work great with medium to large nymphs as well.
