The Ross Evolution FS Fly Reel is one of the most versatile fly reels on the market. The FS or Fresh or Saltwater isn't where the Evo FS stops. A semi caged frame prevents line slippage between frame and spool , perfect for spey set ups, and a stout rounded radius frame adds to strength and durability.

The Evolution FS hybridizes Ross's favorite drag system features of the award winning LTX and Animas model reels. An easy to find drag knob sits relatively flush to the frame to avoid line catching. The knob is super easy to turn and the drag has a nice range from off, to full stoppage of the biggest fish.

Last summer I was Peacock Bass fishing with Untamed Angling. Residing on a barge with 12 other anglers, each with 2-3 rods rigged on the back of the boat, you get to see and feel a bunch of gear. It was then that I really got acquainted with the Ross Evolution FS. Some reels just have the right overall dimensions for a wide range of applications. When you handle the FS reel you notice how solid it feels and at the same time it is super light for its size. A 9/10 reel only weighs 7.7oz. With a 4.54" diameter the 9/10 has speedy pickup. The 9/10 was great in the jungle, is great on the flats and is a super choice for light spey/switch outfit. Machine engraved land and sea artwork on the frame is a nice touch.
