Here are the bare-bones facts: The Caddis Fly Angling Shop is among the best seasoned and respected fly fishing shops around. Wow, that is a pretty audacious assertion, yes? Let's not quibble over just how many years we have been in business (over 30) or exactly what geographic territory we think we consider our territory. These days, the internet expands our reach from the willamette valley, where we make our home, throughout the world. Really. We provide full service fly fishing advice, equipment, fly tying materials, and waders to friends and customers around the globe.
Customer service is more than a slogan to us, we hustle everyday to deliver the best of everything fly fishing to our customers. 1978 was our first year as a fly shop, and back then we had our strongest customer base was within a few hours drive time. Today, we continue to serve walk-in customers in an inauspicious shop of close to four thousand square feet - and we serve customers n the internet who we may never meet face-to-face.
What is it we provide so well, when there are so many internet giants out there providing fly fishing supplies, accessories, fly rods, fly reels, fly lines and the whole shootin' match?
We have a small staff of human beings. We all love to fly fish. This is more than a job for al of us. We have names. Chris. Peter. Lou. Nate. Clay. Jason. Barrett. If you call a giant internet store, you will get the same price we charge here, but it is likely that you won't ever talk to the same person twice. Unless you turn into a stalker.
If you have an order to track, you an talk to the same person who pulled a rooster saddle patch off the peg and stuffed it into a mailer and slapped your address label on it. Some of our pro staff have special expertise in one or more focused aspect of fly fishing and fly tying. If you email or call, you won't ever get made-up answers. If we don't know the answer, we'll tell you, and we will get someone else on our staff or even call in a manufacturer's technical rep to help find an answer to your question.
So what are we, really? We are a fly fishing shop. We sell flies. We do one heck of a job of selling flies. We inventory fly patterns to enthrall fly fishing men, women, and youth fishing for trout, steelhead, salmon, bass, bonefish, permit, tarpon, rockfish, carp, musky, pike, shark, and tuna.
What else? We inventory fly tying supplies and materials. Not just a few fly tying supplies and materials. We inventory an AMAZING variety and depth of fly tying feathers, dry fly hackles, Intruder supplies and materials, fly tying hooks, fly tying tools, fly tying dubbing, fly tying synthetics, fly tying threads and tinsels, fly tying hair, fly tying beads, fly tying cones, fly tying kits, fly tying vises, fly tying lamps, and gosh knows what else in the way of fly tying supplies and materials. We also have access to the entire line of inflatable watercraft for fly fishing from Outcast and fish Cat. Unlike our fly rods, fly reels, fly lines, fly tying supplies, and flies - we do not keep all of these fine inflatable watercraft in the shop, but we an get them delivered to your door, pronto, for a great price.
