The Simms Intruder Boot is an innovative boot designed for the technical, wet wading angler.
This boot is constructed with an integrated neoprene sock to block debris, such as small rocks and gravel, from getting into your boot while you’re wet wading. It also has a full neoprene lining for added comfort, and this also makes it very easy to put them on and take them off. While this boot is essentially built with a neoprene sock, you can still wear your Simms Gravel guards with them, or just go barefoot.
DurabilityWhile this is a very lightweight boot, it is designed to be incredibly durable as well. Its built with a Dual-density EVA midsole for shock absorption and there are welded TPU pads in high abrasion areas.
WadingBetween the boot and the sole there is an ESS plate for improved cleat retention and proprioception to ensure that your studs are securely fastened and can keep you upright in the river for longer. The Vibram Megagrip rubber outsole provides outstanding grip on wet and dry surfaces, and is much more eco-friendly than felt; rubber has far less potential to transport invasive species from one body of water to another. However, we always recommend that you rinse your boots off between uses.
We HIGHLY recommend you install studs in the bottoms of boots always, especially when the boot sole is Vibram. This is a safety concern; a vibram-soled boot with studs is much safer and more stable in the water than one without.
